General Admission Guidelines

GNCS is committed to providing a Biblically-based education which integrates Christian principles and spiritual truths with the academic and social experiences of every student. Admission is open to anyone who chooses the educational experience we offer. To facilitate a full understanding of the philosophy of education and the educational objectives of the school, the following admissions process has been developed:

  • Prospective parents are asked to read the Statement of Purpose (on the Home Page) and Philosophy of Education section.

  • Parents are asked to meet with the Principal and/or Assistant Principal to explore enrollment. In advance of this meeting parents are asked to fill out an enrollment form and provide information about previous schooling and other background information.

  • The Principal(s) will arrange for parents and the student to meet the potential homeroom teacher, during which any readiness testing or assessments can take place as needed.

  • Parents are asked to meet with the Pastor of the Glenview New Church, either concurrent with or separate from the meeting with the principal(s) to explore the religious philosophy upon which the school is based.

  • Parents are invited to formally enroll their child in the Glenview New Church School by filling out a Registration Form (available at the school office or online.)

  • Final decision regarding enrollment is at the discretion of the Principal.

  • Enrolled students will be required to file all applicable medical forms as required by the State of Illinois.

  • GNCS is not in a position to provide an I-20 for families seeking support in obtaining a Visa.

Policy for accepting students on a Part-Time basis

In order to maintain an effective teaching/learning environment based on individual attention, strong relationships and family involvement, Full-Time enrollment is strongly preferred at GNCS. However, there will occasionally be circumstances under which GNCS is able to provide an education for students on a Part-Time basis. Enrollment on a Part-Time basis will follow the same process as Full-Time admission. In addition to the standard admissions expectations, the Principal’s decision to allow a student to enroll on a Part-Time basis will be based largely on the following:

  • Communication and Participation – The school expects regular communication with and involvement from parents/guardians. There should not be a significant language barrier, prolonged absenteeism, inability to participate in curricular and/or non-curricular events, or other circumstances that contradict a high level of student and parent/guardian involvement.

Enrollment is considered Part-Time if it is known in advance that the student will be absent during any part of the school year, including predictable morning or afternoon absenteeism.

The Glenview New Church Schools (the "School") admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School. The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
