Ongoing Programs

The Glenview New Church offeres a variety of ongoing programs to the public. If you have any questions about these programs, please contact Rev. Mark Pendleton for more information. All are welcome to attend, college age and up. Here is a list of these programs:

Begin a New Life:
Four Universal Steps of Life Change and Spiritual Transformation

Begin a New Life is an ongoig group which provides people with tools and support for making key changes in their lives. It is based on a landmark, faith-based process of change that bridges across all faiths and cultures. You don't need to be knowledgeable or experienced in the process in order to show up, learn about it, practice it in your life, and benefit from it immediately. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Exceptions are the month of July each year (the group takes a summer break) and during spiritual growth sermon series at the Glenview New Church. Please contact Mark at markp@glenviewnewchurch.org for current details.

Book Study:
True Christianity

This class offers an in-depth look at the New Church’s core beliefs and approach to life, based on the book, True Christianity by Emanuel Swedenborg. The class meets on Wednesday mornings, 10 a.m., September through May, except holidays and special observance days.

New Church 101:
An Introduction to the New Church

This is a series of classes geared toward newcomers. It will familiarize you with some of the core teachings of the New Church — a new Christianity. The class meets periodically one night a week for eight or ten weeks as the demand arises. Anyone can request this series of classes or join a series that may be currently under way.
